Job Purpose:

  • Drive and develop Auto, H&H sales in China and meet agreed targets for WW Ocean

  • Develop existing accounts to increase services band width and increase share of logistics spend in accordance with targets agreed with Senior manager of Auto/HH

  • Target and develop new accounts in China as per ambition agreed with Senior manager of Auto/HH

  • Drive sales towards both OEMs, NVOCCs and freight forwarders and balance the relationship between the two

  • Liaise with Sales Support and Documentation and ensure customers build strong relationship with the customer service organization

  • Support and implement segment team strategies and global sales efforts as required

  • Share and distribute sales and marketing best practices and market intelligence to the wider organization Increase WW Ocean’s profile in the industry

  • Be innovative by challenging old assumptions and ways of working. Give direction in sales tactics / strategies, negotiations. Ensure we learn from both our successes and failures

  • Foster and drive a strong cooperation between the Commercial Organization and relevant stakeholder such as Trade and Operations

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure performance targets are met and drive sales growth

  • Increase Auto, H&H market share at a profitable level

  • Support implementing Global and China marketing strategies and executing on concrete actions

  • Drive new business growth in China for all commodity segments (Auto/H&H/Break-bulk)

  • Ensure successful negotiations and business contracting

  • Develop company and brand in the Auto, H&H and Liner sales

  • Deliver on annual budget, forecasts and actual performance analysis within established guidelines

  • Execute as per customer and segment strategies for accounts controlled within China

  • Ensure all commercial activities remain fully compliant at all times

  • Ensure that agreed quality and scope of information is maintained in WeConnect

  • Ensure follow up on Customer Satisfaction within set framework

  • Ensure key market and competition information is circulated within the China sales team and the wider organization if need be

  • Identify key areas of improvement in the sales process and promote challenger or disruptive sales approach

  • Ensure close collaboration with export areas on reverse sales / import business

  • Drive integration of WW Ocean products both ocean and inland, and that of sister companies, in order to provide optimal customer solutions and increase overall Group profitability

  • Be a key driver in cooperation between Commercial, Trade and Operations through activities such as forecasting, prioritization, performance reviews and improvement, and other relevant organizational touch points and areas

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent English language skill

  • University degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant shipping, transportation or logistics industry

  • In-depth knowledge of our customer industry

  • In-depth experience in negotiation, tendering and contracting activities

  • Experience in Customer facing or Sales roles

  • Ability to understand, accept and enjoy cultural differences

  • Ability to travel to customers

  • Willingness to work out of hours
