Key attributes:
- Proven sales professional with a minimum of 2 years direct sales experience within a premium sales organization - experience with the leisure and group segment sales would be an advantage
- Educated to degree or equivalent
- Passionately driven towards revenue goals
- Polished and professional communication skills – verbal and written
- Excellent standards of personal presentation
- Understanding of Opera Program would be an advantage
Main Scope of Job:
- The position is accountable for proactively soliciting, handling sales opportunities and reaching revenue/room night targets for W Amsterdam with a focus on leisure and group segment. This role is goaled on leisure, group and catering revenues and involves a combination of account management and new business prospecting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for an allocated portfolio of accounts, undertaking complete account management; maintaining, servicing, contracting and developing your allocated account base.
Actively search and prospect for new accounts with a focus on leisure and group segment.
Create and implement strategic action plans for all key accounts and key prospect accounts to maximize segment production.
- Negotiate rates for both new and existing accounts within the set parameters of the hotels’ overall strategies.
Works collaboratively with head office sales, Market Sales and GSO
- Follow key sales activities such as site inspections, client appointments, promotions, familiarization trips and sales trips to deliver increased market penetration and revenue production goals.
- Conduct domestic and international sales-trips focusing on strengthening existing and building new relationships to deliver increased penetration and revenues.
- Participate in cold calling, sales blitzes, trade shows, workshops and exhibitions as appropriate.
- Efficiently maintain the company database.
Sets a positive example for guest relations and interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Responsible for event enquiry follow up and lead conversion through working with the wider Marriott GSO and Field Sales teams and event planning team.
Maintain full and accurate knowledge of the competitive sets of the Amsterdam hotels, monitor market activity and adjust strategy accordingly to market needs and trends.
Take responsibility to deliver team targets such as MI Leads, LPA Goals, and other projects set by the Director of Sales.
Assist in collating a complete Sales & Marketing plan, in conjunction with other members of the Sales & Marketing team.
- Complete a weekly sales report, detailing activities and financial results in line with company standards, goals and targets.
Prepare reports, as required, including GSPP (sales target & bonus platform) and opera production reports.
- Attend weekly sales meetings and other meetings as required.
- Familiarize yourself with all hotel operations and ensure effective communication between departments to ensure delivery of excellent guest service as appropriate.
Perform any duties deemed necessary and reasonable.
