Due to growth, we are adding a Sales Manager Locomotives to our dynamic and team with varied strengths at our growing Manufacturing Campus in Sacramento. What you will be doing: The role of the Sales Manager Locomotives is to deliver sales strategy to reach order intake, sales targets, and to conduct/support associated governance. Act upon the business strategy and customer requirements to achieve balanced growth. Identify, engage, and develop relationships with the customer and the team toward the strategy and financials objectives. Prepare, conduct and follow-up on sales meetings and build a successful partnership network of companies in the North America region. Drive the overall growth strategy, including the back-to-back development of customers onboarding, from market analysis to new offerings to contract signature. Implement sales and business development strategy and implement the sales activities accordingly. increasing the order intake as per the strategic plan. Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with customers and understanding their needs. Prepare, conduct, and close end to end sales meetings with generated leads from the Marketing department and outbound leads for several customer segments. Prepare and compile bid proposals to customers in coordination with engineering departments and other cross functional groups, in order to secure contracts. Review, assess and answer RFIs, RFQs and RFPs. Answer technical questions, write summaries and white papers as well as recommendations for management. Work with product development, engineering, marketing, and communication teams on developing and driving marketing plans and presentations for client facing documents. Undertake bench marking and document product history. Achieve the order intake, sales, and gross margin targets in line with the budget and business objectives. Drive and handle the entire sales cycle & strategy plan through inception, implementation and launch, establishing sound relationships with internal partners and customer representatives. Identify, prioritize, and target sales opportunities. Present annual and periodic sales reports. Prepare annual sales forecasts and commercial budget. Build account plans, and supervise sales opportunities with accurate tools (Salesforce, strategic plan, tactical plan). Implement best-practice sharing throughout regions and accounts, as well as introduce new sales processes and practices. Adopt standard Siemens Mobility processes and rules for the sales and bidding activities. Develop ideas for new products/ services based on current products or emerging customer needs while being fully aware of new products and competition status. Develop understanding of the driven environment. Analyze business results & competitive performance and make recommendations based upon a detailed understanding of Siemens Mobility, our customers and market dynamics to meet/exceed our financial targets. Plan for and attend key industry events, tradeshows, conferences, and build a social media presence to represent. Develop and lead R&D program for new technical solutions. Participate in rolling stock standards and regulatory committees in support of influencing future locomotive product technical specifications and designs. Participate in industry networking events. What you will need to be successful: At least 5 years’ experience in rail or related business industries. At least 1 year of strong experience in sales or business development for locomotives. Education: Sophisticated technical degree vital, deep understanding of the latest technology developments in the rolling stock industry is a must Shown experience in leading a team. Integrative team working style. Business acumen and ability to anticipate customer needs. Customer focused. Strong ability to influence, convince and persuade others.
