Company Description

The purpose of the Marketing BU is to sustainably maximise cash flows from the marketing of Anglo American products and services. In support of this, we have set ourselves a target to deliver a considerable uplift in PBT by 2023.

Support the execution of the regional stainless & specialty steel raw materials sales strategy for China which  includes the development of nickel metallic trading book and creating new customer and sales opportunities with a view to maximising the sustainable value of the regional sales book within risk and governance policies.

Provide key insights into local and regional markets, suppliers, customers and competitors across the sales and trading book.

Job Description

Sales Strategy and Plans

· Support the development and implementation of the near to medium term sales strategy for the region.

· Support the Regional Sales Manager, Asia and Head of Sales in the development of the regional sales plan in the near to medium term.

Sales Performance

· Support the Regional Sales Manager, Asia in optimizing the value of the sales book in China

· Understand customer specific value-in-use of all stainless steel raw materials and customer trade-offs to create customer-specific sales / marketing solutions.

· Support the development of new customer portfolio in stainless steel as well as other sectors (alloy, special steel, plating)

Customer Relationship Management

· Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts and develop new customers.

· Develop relationships with suppliers and consumers of nickel metallic.

· Identify and / or implement new commercial opportunities in the ferro alloys market through internal and external working relationships and interactions beyond immediate team.

Market Intelligence

· Act as a source of market, customer and competitor intelligence in the Chinese stainless and ferro alloys market.

· Provide timely, accurate and relevant information to support the execution of the Stainless Steel Raw Materials sales and marketing strategy.

Risk and Governance

Execute the commodity regional strategy within Marketing’s defined risk and governance framework

Qualifications

Commercial Reasoning and Application - Understands every element of the marketing value chain, financial concepts and appropriate risk management, and applies this knowledge to achieve business success and growth. (Level Proficient).

Commodity Knowledge - Understands the production process, technical characteristics, market dynamics, commodity applications, our customers, their requirements and how we deliver value. (Level Proficient).

Customer Relationship Management - Understands and anticipates external customers’ needs and takes action to meet expectations and deliver value quality outcomes. (Level Proficient).

Negotiation and Influencing - Develops and uses negotiation and influencing skills and strategies and builds relationships to create optimal outcomes to deliver value. (Level Proficient).

Sales Execution - Manages activities to facilitate and execute sales effectively and efficiently to generate value. (Level Proficient ).

Additional Information

· Experience in the ferro nickel and nickel metallic trading is essential

· Ability to actively identify and support the management of price risk in equity and third-party transactions;

· Highly motivated, charismatic, self-starter, winning personality
