Sales Operations Manager – Chalfont, PA or Franklin, TN

This role is an integral piece of the sales function and key contributor to the MARS Fishcare leadership team. This individual will aid leadership by providing market /internal assessment and KPI analysis across retailers, vendors, and MARS brands.  The role is responsible for on-time and accurate sales/category information, demand forecast data, financial spend and control compliance for the Sales function, and data management integrity at key customers.  Additionally, this role will be the lead Sales conduit for all S&OP, Activity and Change management within headquarters.  This includes ensuring the proper development of needed materials, developing process for providing content to customers and ensuring execution.  The role is responsible for sourcing, developing and leading a direct team of associates. 

What are we looking for?

  • Experience which demonstrates advanced problem solving and analytic capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team environment
  • 7-10 years working experience in sales / analytics (internal and external)
  • Four year college degree

  • Experience managing data analysts
  • MBA

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Be a key member of the Activity Management team representing Sales in all discussions concerning new propositions.  This role will have the authority to make decisions impacting the Global Sales organization in this setting.
  • Own the S&OP process including volume, spend gap identification, and action plan to close any potential gaps.
  • Serve as the catalyst to ensure a strong and collaborative working alignment between sales, supply chain, production, and customer care departments.
  • Own Sales budgets including travel & trade show spend, proof of performance, limits of approval authority and Meeting Competition Agreements (MCA) for account level budgets.
  • Own the annual business planning process including program design, volume and spend roll up and gap closure initiatives
  • Work collaboratively across functions to develop and deliver the field toolkit including category story, brand story & sales fundamentals.
  • Provide market and sales fundamental analytics to assist leadership assessment to drive decisions regarding risks & opportunities.
  • Extract key insights from the analysis of market business trends, issues, and opportunities. Present findings in a compelling way to influence critical business decisions.
  • Manage periodic and ad-hoc reporting for leadership and key planning activities and supporting tools (annual targets planning, key account reviews, executive reviews, etc.)
  • Work with Nielsen to ensure data availability & integrity, manage ad hoc projects.
  • Manage data/insights overhead budget across total organization
  • Lead and Develop team associates to meet the reporting needs for account teams at key customers.
  • Responsible for People Management including:
    • Planning talent needs, recruiting, hiring and selecting talent capable of 2+ moves
    • Assessing potential and co-creating development plans with individual reports; providing coaching to realize individual potential and fulfill development plan.
    • Setting expectations and overseeing the achievement of individual objectives, monitoring performance and providing on-going feedback.
    • Coaching and directing for optimal performance and development.
    • Team building and team management to ensure team success in the achievement of company goals.
