Sales Trainer

Job Description

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Mentor, coach and support new Inside Sales and Field Account Managers, District Sales Managers (DSMs), Instrument System Specialists (ISS), and Health System Executives (HSEs) through a multiphase, rapid onboarding training process
  • Develop selling skills related to analyzing customer information, developing a business plan, establishing and developing customer relationships and executing professional sales calls with new and existing customers through the combined use of phone, remote and social selling techniques to increase profitable sales growth
  • Travel up to 60% to coach and evaluate the sales team on the effective use of our mobile sales tools including Salesforce.com, various sales apps and how to leverage available resources to maximize their effectiveness in executing their role
  • Assist in the development and delivery of various instructor-led and online sales training courses
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships associated with the delivery of product training
  • Deliver training at national and regional sales meetings
  • Establish and maintain relationships with functional area managers, DSMs and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to improve course content
  • Make recommendations and modify training programs, as appropriate, based upon the results of training effectiveness metrics and quality review results
  • Assist in the administration and coordination of the logistics associated with new hire onboarding, continuing education and management training
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of the team’s Learning & Development (L&D) infrastructure (i.e., internal processes, guidelines, communications, etc.)
  • Use the corporate Learning Management System (LMS) to record registration and completion of learning activities

Other Job Requirements:

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a highly matrixed and fast-paced environment
  • Heavy use of iPhone, iPad and laptop
  • Adherence to corporate IT and travel policies and guidelines
  • Extended work hours, as required
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Management, Education or Communications
  • 2+ years’ sales experience in diagnostic, healthcare and/or medical device sales desired
  • 2+ years’ field and inside sales training experience
  • Knowledge and application of adult learning theory and principles, blended learning approaches and evaluation methods
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations and facilitation of role plays, system and sales tool scenarios
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (i.e., Success Factors, Mobile Agility, Oracle)
  • Knowledge and experience using Customer Management Relationship (CRM)
    (Salesforce preferred) and reporting tools (i.e., Cognos)
  • Knowledge and experience using MS Office (i.e., PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Word), Internet (i.e., IE, Chrome) and online web conferencing (i.e., Webex) applications
  • Contagious enthusiasm and a passion for training and development
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and motivational skills that are scalable to a District Manager/Leadership position
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and visual communication skills
  • Creative, autonomous professional with a strong work ethic and time management skills who can manage multiple priorities and drive organizational change that will result in measurable performance improvements
