PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Sanitation Technician provides a safe, clean, orderly environment that exemplifies a world class manufacturing facility

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Perform cleaning as per the Master Cleaning and Shutdown/Start-up Cleaning Schedules

 Maintain control over the microbial environment in plant through detailed cleaning of plant equipment and surfaces, sanitation of high risk areas, and management of the environmental sampling program, adjusting efforts to minimize counts

 Perform preventive maintenance on all sanitation equipment

 Provide early detection of equipment degradation or malfunction throughout the plant

 Maintain grounds and perimeter of plant along with roof and roof mounted equipment

 Communicate any quality and food safety concerns to the site

 Communicate equipment and facilities defects to maintenance departments

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Provides coaching to plant associates on Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation and pest control

 Coordinate supplies, equipment and contractor support for plant sanitation and pest control

 Flow to help clean up with operations as needed

 Help create new or improve existing processes for cleaning and sanitation

 Assist in training Technicians on proper cleaning and sanitation procedures

 Other similar duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

 Strong problem solving skills

 Ability to plan work on a daily basis, work independently and be a self-motivator

 Ability to work as part of a team and effectively interact with other departments and outside vendors

 Ability to learn advanced pest control principles

 Ability to work in environmental extremes (hot/cold), elevated heights, in confined spaces, around dust, and with chemicals

 Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and sanitation equipment

 Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality and Food Safety requirements

 Ability to lift 50 lbs

 Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules

 Current forklift certification or the ability to certify

  JOB DESCRIPTION

 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Prior janitorial/cleaning experience, ideally in an industrial setting

 Basic maintenance skills
