We are seeking a passionate individual with a strong knowledge of theatre and a love for working with kids. The job is based in Shanghai for a school semester (Sept 2020 to mid Jan 2021). An ideal candidate should have at least 5 years’ musical theatre teaching experience working with children ages 7-14, be energetic and flexible and have at least a bachelor academic background in performing arts. Classroom management skill is a must.

Responsibilities
• Teaching musical theatre programs at international schools for students aged 7-16 for 10 to 15 sessions a week. Classes range from 1 to 2 hours each session. Teaching language is bilingual.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about working with young children. Ability to promote a feeling of security and trust in children by being warm, supportive, humorous and comforting.
• Curriculum development and lesson planning.
• Able to effectively collaborate with local staff to develop, produce and direct two to three imaginative shows, including but not limited to music, dance, theater, directing, set and lighting design, and costume design.
• Ability to work well harmoniously in a multi-cultural team on new business development and marketing activities.
• Marketing and PR activities for the company’s art programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by local Arts Director.

Qualifications
• BFA in Performing arts, Vocal Music, Musical Theatre, Dance, or drama. Overseas education background is preferred.
• Fluent in English
• At least 5 years of musical theatre performing experience, preferably in internationals shows. The candidate should also be still active on stage.
• Directing and producing shows experience is a must
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience to kids in at least two of the skills (vocal, dance, drama).
