Responsibilities:

• Ensure the smooth operation of Medical Room in order to provide professional, immediate and appropriate medical support to the students and staff of the school
• Promotes and protects the optimal health status of students
• Developing clinic standard protocols and standard procedures
• Monitors the health status of the school population
• Promotes and assists in control of communicable disease through preventative measures, early detection, surveillance and reporting of contagious Diseases.
• Providing health education to students, faculty and non-faculty members in both individual and group settings.
• Respond to the needs of students reporting sick, prioritise and deal with them as appropriate, including carrying out necessary first aid care and medical treatment
• Make arrangements to contact parents/ sending home/ hospitalisation, where necessary
• Liaise with class teacher, year group teachers, tutors and senior leaders on health problems with students
• Maintain records of all visits to Medical Room and complete accident forms and reports as appropriate
• Responsible for ensuring adequate and appropriate First Aid stock in medical room and classroom supplies, such as contents and display etc.
• Provide medical cover for school events and trips where required

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor in Nursing; registered with the Hong Kong Nursing Board highly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years related healthcare experience or relevant training in paediatrics and child health and prior experience as a school nurse would be advantageous
• Able to perform routine medical procedures and first aid treatment
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
• Organized, patient, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently
