Key Responsibilities/职位描述


SRA Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all China products and Claims are compliant with China regulations
  • Work seamlessly with Regulatory Compliance team
  • Support the development and substantiation of Claims that enable the business to maximise competitive advantage.
  • Support and implement the APAC Regulatory Compliance Process (RCP) in China ensuring that ingredients, recipes, claims, legal text assessments go through the RCP process
  • Act as primary SRA interface with other functions at the operational level
  • Provide SRA inputs and representation in the appropriate business forums such as Activity Feeder Mtg; Step 1, PAC Mtgs (joint CA-SRA) etc
  • Responsible for SRA inputs, actions and CAPA for PRIMPs
  • Monitor and share regulatory developments in both Feed, Petfood and Food sectors to ensure the business reacts in a timely fashion to minimize impact or facilitate exploitation of such developments
  • Provide reasoned and analytical risk assessments as required that evaluate regulatory risk, business exposure and likely consequences, as well as providing opportunities for mitigation.
  • Deliver regulatory update trainings to key stakeholders in the business.

External Technical Stakeholders Influencing:

  • Leads the technical and regulatory influencing within local Petfood Trade Associations and with relevant Regulatory authorities in China.
  • Build strong external networks with Petfood Trade Association; industry players; relevant business partners; government and regulators to maintain and advance knowledge in regulatory developments and facilitate appropriate lobbying strategies and activities to ensure Mars’ business interests are best represented

Scientific Affairs & Communication:

  • Promote the work and expertise of Mars Petcare Nutritional Science (Waltham) and work to establish credibility with key opinion formers both internally & externally. Requires thorough understanding of Petcare nutrition and expertise. Build a strong Professional network and maintain strong links with Waltham
  • Work closely with R&D, Sales, CA and Marketing teams to design and deliver appropriate training and Scientific communications and provide technical support for Brands and to drive Conversion
  • Brand & Company Technical Support. Be the key contact for all technical (nutrition & regulatory) queries and provide a high standard of nutritional and pet care expertise and timely communication with customers and trade media


APAC SRA Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the APAC RCP process to ensure regulatory compliance of our products
  • Support engagement of the APAC SRA team
  • Contribute to SRA strategy development for APAC SRA
  • Ensure implementation of relevant global SRA standards in market unit


Global SRA Engagement:

  • Engage with Global Pet SRA Leadership team and ensure that Market projects, strategies and initiatives are aligned with global priorities and targets


SRA team lead and development

  • Lead and develop SRA team in China





1. Education & Professional Qualification

Degree qualified in a food or science related discipline; Veterinarian qualification preferred

5+ yrs experience working in MARS or  similar role in FMCG or ingredients company


2. Knowledge/Experience

     Science background and a history of delivery.

     Skills/Ability: Understanding of Regulatory compliance processes, Pet Nutrition, quality management principles, working in teams, process management , conflict resolution
