Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Specialist /Pet Care

Panama

Specialist SRA performs a variety of regulatory activities related to raw materials, finished products, product registration, labelling, claims, packaging, and regulatory database management to ensure compliance with applicable food and other product-related laws and regulations in accordance with internal processes and within assigned areas of responsibility in assigned countries.

 

What are we looking for?

  • 2-3 years of experience in regulatory compliance/affairs is required with a food or FMCG company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area, such as standardization, chemistry, nutrition, food science or biology is preferred.

Preferred:  A Master’s degree in a technical area, such as such as standardization, chemistry, nutrition, food science or biology is preferred.

  • Technical  skills: Product Quality Custodian; Risk & Opportunity Identification; Continuous improvement; Product, Packaging & Process Design
  • Advanced English is required

What would be your key responsibilities?

  1. Responsible for assuring ingredients, formulas, labelling, and packaging are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies/etc., in assigned countries.
  2. Responsible for assuring claims are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies/etc., in assigned countries.
  3. Monitors regulatory activities in assigned markets, determines current and expected regulatory status of new ingredients and additives; researches interpretations regarding the safety and acceptability of products and ingredients, and assures SRA databases are up to date and contain right and actual information.
  4. Responsible for finished product registration in assigned countries.
  5. Responsible for creation and maintenance of internal standards for finished products.
  6. Prepares and submits documentation to regulatory agencies and other external bodies required to respond to regulatory inquiries, substantiate and approve claims and to gain approval of new ingredients.
