Job Purpose:

The ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet® Scientific Services Veterinarian will execute training and scientific communication programs to drive the goals of the veterinary business unit through partnering with sales and customers to drive nutritional recommendation and compliance. This position focuses on our communication and outreach to specialists, general practitioners, and veterinary associations. The Royal Canin team of Scientific Services Veterinarians fulfills a crucial role in the dissemination of scientific information regarding pet nutrition to the veterinary community.

 

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with an active license in one or more states
  • 3+ years’ experience as a veterinary practitioner, internship, co-ops AND/OR residency
  • Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Teams/OneNote, and Zoom)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the NYC, Philly & Boston territory (Company car eligible)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of effective use of social media platforms as a communication tool

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the communication and outreach to KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) within specialty referral hospitals in your region. Own the relationships with specialty referral hospitals in an assigned geography. This includes but is not limited to, training, rounds, communication and outreach of KOLs and hospital staff.
  • Partner with sales counterparts in the assigned geography to educate and grow recommendations at key accounts as identified. 
  • Support national accounts through relationships with regional medical leadership and attendance of events for key accounts
  • Build networks of KOLs in your region to be leveraged by veterinary operations, marketing, corporate communications, and scientific communications.
  • Provide best-in-class training to veterinarians associated with key accounts in your region.
  • Contribute to business goals through collaboration and joint business planning with veterinary sales team
  • Attend regional and national meetings, conference calls, and lead trainings as assigned to provide technical expertise
  • Represent Royal Canin at national and regional veterinary conferences as assigned
  • Provide nutritional case consultations for veterinary clinics as assigned
  • Ability to travel (50%) and otherwise be able to work from home effectively
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
