Scientific Support Specialist

Royal Canin

 

Location : Aimargues (30 minutes from Montpellier)

Type of contract : permanent contract

 

As Scientific Support Specialist in Royal Canin, you will be a key player of our diverse Global R & D team, responsible for ensuring our product developments are based on the most recent scientific knowledge and that this knowledge is being transferred to the people who prescribe our products.  You will be owner and driver of a physiological territory or product range, providing support, advice and guidance across the business and beyond.

A key interface with many functions (including Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Scientific Communications, other R & D teams, Legal and Commercial), You will be the internal reference for feline and canine nutrition and services providing consistency across our projects, driving external advocacy for our science and managing the technical substantiation of a product range, all along its life cycle.

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Provide guidance and insights regarding the nutritional and scientific content of projects, ensuring substantiation of all claims
  • Develop and disseminate the scientific content of new product, generating engagement in the story, performance and benefits of our products
  • Follow the technical performance of a product range to drive global product improvement initiatives and prepare future range/territory evolution
  • To our Associates and external partners, be the pet and product expert and the face of R & D; representing your territory and/or range throughout their life cycle

 

What are we looking for?

  • Graduate in Veterinary Medicine, PhD in Animal Biology, Nutrition or similar
  • A specialization with one of the recognized European or American Veterinary specialist colleges will be a strong advantage (Veterinary Internal Medicine,Veterinary Nutrition, Veterinary Behaviour, Feline Medicine, Animal Reproduction…)
  • Significant experience (+5 years) in veterinary education, research or petfood industry
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Fluency in English (oral & written)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with proven ability to communicate complex science verbally and through written materials, to a variety of audiences including expert and non-technical audiences
