Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Genome Analysis Unit at Amgen is seeking a talented and motivated cell biologist to initiate our cell therapy effort. The GAU is an innovation group within Discovery Research focused on developing novel therapeutics and technology advancement. The group operates autonomously as well as collaboratively across all areas of Discovery Research to accelerate and enable drug discovery at Amgen. Within our group we are academically minded but are resourced for industry-sized challenges. 

In this vital role you will have the opportunity to think independently and make major contributions to initiate cell therapy effort. The candidate will be an integral part of our gene and cell therapy team, applying knowledge in cell biology and analytical skills to develop strategies for proof of concept (POC) as well as execution of POC for cell therapy. The candidate will also build and lead a working team involving internal and external collaboration, to scale up and transition POC efforts into clinic settings.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with in vivo biology, techniques and project management
  • A strong background in  pluripotency and/or hematopoiesis
  •  Knowledge of embryology and manipulating cell fate
  • Experience in a highly integrated industry environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work in an integrated team with strong communication skills
