Job Description

Amgen R&D Translational Sciences is looking for a Scientist dedicated to biomarker development and implementation within the Clinical Biomarker & Diagnostics (CBD) department of Amgen.

Position Responsibilities
Specific therapeutic area focus in Cardiometabolic disease
Serve as the CBD representative on Amgen’s clinical project teams and be responsible for the biomarker strategy for these projects
Develop and implement biomarkers measuring biochemical coverage, pharmacodynamics, patient selection and/or stratification 
Work cross-functionally within Amgen and interact closely with both the clinical and discovery research groups
Design experiments, draft and implement protocols, execute studies, organize data, analyze results, and draft technical reports or tech transfer documents

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree or Doctorate degree completed by January 2020 
OR
Master's degree and 4 years scientific experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications
Ph,D in biomedical sciences and 1+ years of industry experience in translational research preferred 
Knowledge and experience in cardiovascular and/or metabolic disease
Expertise in preclinical biomarker discovery/validation and/or implementing biomarker assays in a clinical trial setting
Experience in implementing a broad array of platforms and technologies to support a research program
Familiarity with assay development and qualification and analysis of clinical samples
Ability to focus on key issues and be result oriented
A proven track record of productivity, effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment
