What will you do?
The Scientist I (1 year contract) will be heavily involved in the execution of molecular biology tests designed by the senior group members for feasibility as well as verification and validation of new assays and instruments. Ability to design and execute simple experiments independently and report the results will also be required. The new hire will be primarily based in laboratory and as such, will have strong experience in Molecular Biological techniques and be comfortable in this environment. The Scientist I will work effectively as part of a dynamic team or alone and possess strong organization skills. The successful applicant is required to exhibit results-oriented attitude with the ability to thrive in the fast paced environment.
How will you get here?
I. Education
- Required – Bachelors or Masters in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar
II. Experience
- Possesses prior laboratory experience in PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis. Knowledge of NGS and capillary electrophoresis is preferred.
- Possesses strong computer skills and can manage and analyze data sets.
III. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Executes molecular biology experiments independently and performs accurate record keeping.
- Accurately follows protocols
- Assists senior members of the team in complex experimentation planning and execution.
- Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures following research and development scientific standards.
