Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Scientist I, are to: 

 

  • Be fully capable of designing, implementing and summarizing technical, innovative experiments in the field of plant pathology, especially having demonstrated skills and experiences in turf and ornamental (T&O) management; Lab skills in microscopy techniques for disease microorganisms, such as fungi, bacteria and nematodes;
  • Demonstrate creative and innovative knowledge and skills for complex biological problem-solving;
  • Be able to coordinate and set up trials with internal and external cooperators;
  • Demonstrate good planning and organization skills of assigned project workload;
  • Must be timely responsible to meet customer and business needs (both internal and external);
  • Be fully capable of providing customer training in the field of T&O disease management and product demonstration;
  • Have working knowledge of SCOUT, SWATT, Lumos and Microsoft Office software, Data science, UAS pilot license, and other digital skillsets.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant scientific discipline with at least five years of demonstrated research experience in plant pathology or Master of Science in a relevant scientific discipline with at least two years demonstrated research experience, or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Plant Pathology) with demonstrated research knowledge and experience.
