Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Scientist II, are to: 

 

  • Quantitatively evaluate field and laboratory environmental fate study results to derive degradation kinetics using North American and European regulatory methodologies;
  • Review and evaluate field runoff, leaching, dissipation, spray drift and similar studies with regard to chemical fate and transport;
  • Assist in the design of studies with expert understanding of regulatory policy;
  • Serve as a member of Product or Asset Teams by contributing expert exposure results for strategic decision making;
  • Keep current with technical advances in regulatory exposure modeling, and actively seeking ways to bring innovation to EPA and PMRA exposure assessments.

Required Qualifications:

  

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field of study (such as agricultural engineering, hydrology, chemistry, soil science, etc.) with minimum of 3 years of  experience; OR
  • M.S. degree in a relevant field of study (such as agricultural engineering, hydrology, chemistry, soil science, etc.) with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; OR
  • B.S. degree in a relevant field of study (such as agricultural engineering, hydrology, chemistry, soil science, etc.) with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of agricultural hydrology and models used to predict chemical transport and/or erosion;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Demonstrated expertise in common office computer software and databases;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and constructive interactions and information sharing with other Research and Development functions.
