What will you do?
 
The Scientist II, Cell Biology will take a role in development and execution of methods for testing of new cell transfection solutions. Successful candidate will possess good practical knowledge of cell biology techniques, specifically experience with mammalian cell culture. The candidate will provide technical expertise on a project and department level and will be expected to integrate into a dynamic and multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant is required to exhibit a results orientated attitude with the ability to thrive in the fast paced environment of biotechnology. The Scientist II will possess the technical capacity to develop experimental hypotheses, design and perform experiments, analyze data sets, and write protocols and reports. Furthermore, they will be expected to present their findings on a project level to internal stakeholders.
 
 
Responsibilities
·                     Maintains mammalian cell cultures.
·                     Conducts experiments including cell transfection, flow cytometry, as well as molecular biology methods (PCR, DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis).
·                     Maintains accurate laboratory records and data.
·                     Designs and conducts experiments independently and writes procedures, protocols and reports.
·                     Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
·                     Participates on multifunctional teams and leads small to medium projects.
·                     Problem solves using knowledge of technical product details and design control.
·                     Adheres to internal policies and procedures, as well as external quality standards
 
 
How will you get here?
 
I.        Education
·                     Master’s Degree with 2-3 years’ experience or PhD with 0-1 years’ experience in Cell Biology or related discipline.
 
II.        Experience
·                     Practical laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture is required (cancer cell lines, primary cells, stem cells, etc.).
·                     Familiar with mammalian cell transfection.
·                     Familiar with Excel and Statistical Data Analysis tools.
·                     Hands-on experience with flow cytometer.
·                     Experience working in regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485) is an advantage.
 
III.        Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
·                     Able to design, plan and execute experiments for proof of concept testing.
·                     Able to write test plan & report, design test matrix, develop test protocols.
·                     Able to analyze and present test results to project stakeholders.
·                     Prior technical experience in CAR-T cell therapy/immunotherapy/stem cell research or hematology field is an advantage.
