Oncology is a key therapeutic area for AbbVie, with a portfolio consisting of three marketed products — Imbruvica, Venclexta, and Empliciti — and a pipeline containing multiple promising new molecules that are being studied in nearly 200 clinical trials in 19 different types of cancer. This position is based at AbbVie’s new South San Francisco, CA location. AbbVie’s rapidly expanding Cell Therapy group is hiring a Scientist II/ Senior Scientist I to develop next generation cell therapies in the context of a highly innovative oncology pipeline. Have basic expertise in utilizing bioinformatics/data science tools to study T cell biology and/or tumor immuno-biology Have technical experience in Bioinformatics and Molecular biology research. Collaborate in a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, discovery-oriented environment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience in Bioinformatics is desired, especially experience with bioinformatic analysis of large set of -OMICs data using multiple tools (e.g., Spotfire, R-Studio). Experience in NK, T cell biology and CAR T cell therapy hands-on experience is a key advantage. Practical experience with several of the following techniques: primary cell culture, T cell-based assays, Flow cytometry, qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, MSD, Luminex, viral transduction, molecular cloning. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience in presenting data for a large audience.
