The Department of Oncology and Inflammation Research is seeking a Scientist to join the In Vivo Pharmacology group. This individual will be responsible for exploring and understanding the pharmacology of drug targets and surrogate therapeutics within autoimmunity, inflammatory diseases and cancer.
Position Responsibilities
Lead a laboratory group and contribute to multiple project teams and collaborate with other research scientists at multiple Amgen sites, including teams in other functional areas, such as, Therapeutic Discovery, Medical Sciences, and Computational Biology
Design, execute and oversee cutting-edge research that strengthens Amgen’s research pipeline
Present strategies and results to project teams to help drive research programs
Utilize in vivo pharmacology and animal models to validate and accelerate molecules through the research pipeline
Publish experimental findings and present at national and international conferences
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications
PhD or MD, with postdoctoral research experience in the fields of immunology, inflammation, autoimmune disease, oncology, and/or cancer immunotherapy
Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the area of immunology or inflammation
Demonstrated experience in pharmacology and in vivo models of inflammation or cancer
