What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will be a part of the Department of Inflammation Research working as a Scientist to discover novel targets and develop innovative therapies in inflammatory diseases. You will perform innovative research to investigate disease driving molecular and cellular mechanisms in inflammatory diseases, such as: IBD, asthma, COPD or atopic dermatitis. You will collaborate with a dynamic research team from multiple Amgen functional areas in leading and/or supporting projects from discovery research to clinical development.

  • Propose discovery targets from using human genetics, transcriptomics, in vitro and in vivo discovery research
  • Lead and/or support project teams in collaboration with scientists from multiple functional areas
  • Publish and present at national/international conferences

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master’s degree plus 4 years of scientific experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD with strong knowledge and research experience in the field of inflammation
  • Technical expertise in CRISPR, siRNA, multi-color flow cytometry, or mouse inflammatory disease models
  • Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by a strong publication record and/or significant contributions to a therapeutic development program
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable, highly motivated, creative, and collaborative individual
