We are seeking a Scientist to join a vibrant and growing group focusing on neuroinflammation at the Discovery Research unit in South San Francisco. The candidate must be a Scientist with in-depth knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and assay development to participate in ongoing efforts directed toward developing new and effective therapeutics to treat neurodegenerative diseases.

Position Responsibilities

Perform cutting-edge research that integrates human genetics, immunology and neuroscience

Conceptualize, design and independently execute broad sets of experiments required to validate novel targets for neuroinflammatory diseases

Critically analyze and interpret data, define realistic timelines for studies and meet delivery deadlines

Work closely with and communicate results to multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams

Present strategies and results to project teams

Execute high impact studies within an extremely fast-paced and collaborative environment

Publish experimental findings in top-tier Journals and present novel findings at national and international conferences

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of Scientific experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

PhD or MD, with postdoctoral training and research experience in the fields of immunology or neuroscience

Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking, creativity and scientific research achievement in the areas of immunology or neuroscience as demonstrated by high impact publications and/or significant contributions to therapeutic programs

Deep expertise in molecular and cellular biology

Experience in the development of functional, cellular assays

Experience working in a cross-functional and matrixed organization and/or a highly collaborative research environment

Highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
