The Department of Inflammation and Oncology Research is seeking highly motivated Scientist (Technology) to investigate and discover novel mechanisms of immune mediated pathogenesis in autoimmune, inflammatory diseases, and cancer.
The candidate will independently lead the effort to perform functional genomic studies by using various technologies such as CRISPR or siRNA mediated screening in vitro and in vivo to identify novel regulatory pathways in T cells. The candidate will also use molecular and biochemical tools to unravel the mechanisms associated with disease pathogenesis and identify potential therapeutic approaches. In addition, the candidate may lead or work with other groups at multiple Amgen sites, including teams in other functional areas such as Therapeutic Discovery, Medical Sciences, and Computational Biology. The candidates will be expected to publish and to present at national/international conferences.
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D or MD, with postdoctoral trainings and research experience in the field of immunology, oncology, molecular biology or biochemistry
Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by a strong publication record in top tier journals
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and able to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment
