Eaton’s Utility segment of its Digital Office is looking for a Scrum Master / Software Project Manager. This position may be located at our Montreal or Quebec City offices. Position Overview: Are you a passionate leader with a strong background in agile methodologies? Are you looking to put your experience and expertise to work to coach members of an agile software team and lead the delivery of software platforms? It is a unique opportunity to join a diverse and global team. The Scrum Master/ Software Project Manager will be responsible for organizing our software projects, running Scrum ceremonies, assisting in user stories, sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a servant leader to coach and mentor scrum teams both in North America and in our India technology center. The candidate must be proficient in Agile methodologies and working with teams of varying Agile experience and maturity. The Scrum Master/Software Project Manager will have experience aligning multiple software releases and a proven track record of capturing dependencies from multiple software teams. The candidate will work with product owners, software developers, business analysts, and software quality assurance test team to align on all deliverables needed to meet our customer needs. Additionally, this position will assist in the software project portfolio duties for the Utilities Software Digital Office. Essential Functions: Build a best-in-class team with a focus on accountability, innovation, and passion for delivery of high performing software platforms Perform Agile coaching activities for the Scrum teams. Drive requirements meetings with product owners and work with business analysts, software architects, and other scrum masters to break down and load user stories Align the multiple software release dependencies with other software platforms to insure coverage and acceptance criteria Lead team members to ensure product vision and goals are met and communicate software status to keep the team and organization informed on release status Work through conflicts and differing opinions and provide solutions to a common goal Liaise with internal stakeholders, including product owners from multiple product teams, software teams, business analysts, software quality assurance, and DevOps teams Manage the Scrum boards for multiple Scrum teams Work with management teams on resource and capacity planning for release and project schedules Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum 3 years’ professional experience of leading Agile teams (Scrum or Kanban) with a proven track record of aligning teams and releases 3 years’ experience project managing digital R&D software projects at either the cloud, enterprise software, or embedded software level Fluency in both English and French. Fluency in English is required for this position in order to communicate with colleagues, customers, and partners located outside of Quebec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field of our industry. Applicants must reside within an 80km radius of Montreal or Quebec City. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM or PSM) Experience using tools such as Jira Advanced Roadmaps or Jira Align Resource planning and execution experience Project Management Certifications such as PMP Previous software development experience Experience leading and mentoring onshore and offshore teams Experience working in the electric utility market and/or power system knowledge. Position Criteria: Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills to build trust and influence others Strong presentation and meeting leadership skills to keep teams accountable and engaged Experience with managing multiple projects and software releases at a time Experience in the software development life cycle with knowledge of software interfaces, technologies, and development languages.
