SECONDARY SCHOOL VICE PRINCIPAL NEEDED IN ABU DHABI - AUGUST 2020.
An expanding private American curriculum school is seeking to appoint a dynamic, forward looking and inspirational Secondary Vice Principal to work closely with their team of professionals, students, parents and stakeholders to develop further standards, pedagogy and curriculum as the school continues an exciting transitional phase having expanded to new premises and entered the secondary phase of education. The post offers a real opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute significantly to the expansion and development of the school as well as to develop both personally and professionally.
The goal of the position is to use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to develop, achieve and maintain the best possible educational programs for the students that support the vision, values, mission statement and core beliefs of the school. To provide fair and equal treatment as well as equal opportunities for the school community. To implement and revise programs that support student learning. To be responsible for assisting the Principal in overseeing and managing all functions, curriculums and programs in the school. Applicants need to show evidence of curriculum development strategies/initiatives rather than share general Principal stories.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education /Certification
● Master’s Degree in Education, certification or equivalent
● Administrator Certificate or minimum four years supervisory experience
● Minimum Four years middle leadership experience
Special Knowledge/Skills
● Successful experience working in a leadership role in education
● Working knowledge of curriculum, professional development and assessment
● Deep knowledge of the US curriculum practices, particularly with High School experience
● Advantageous if the candidate has experience in AP courses and has demonstrated experience in teaching English to second language learners.
● Excellent skills in communicating and collaborating with staff and parents
● Excellent skills in supervising and evaluating staff
● Classroom experience at the secondary level
● Working knowledge of K-12 level curriculum and its inherent unique attributes
● Bring an imaginative approach to solving problems and be a good communicator, while working cooperatively with those of differing views.
It is essential that all applicants are qualified in line with Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) requirements with an in depth working knowledge of an American curriculum school in an international context. The school is committed to the safeguarding of all its students and, therefore, this post is subject to all relevant background checks before appointment.
The package for our senior leaders includes:
• Salary: 25 000 AED
• School fees paid 100% for the first child and 50% for the second child.
• Housing Allowance: 60000 AED
• Medical Insurance for employee only
• Annual economy airfare to place of origin for employee only
• All Leave pay in accordance with UAE Labour laws (minimum 8 weeks yearly) plus all National Holidays
• Visa and medical check-up fees for residence visa paid for employee only
• End of Service benefits are in accordance with UAE Ministry of Labour usually around 21 days paid for each year of service, paid at end of contract.
• Contract period is 3 years renewable. There is a six month probationary period
• Start Date is 23 August 2020
