Job Description

Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is leading the way in providing FPGAs with advanced security options. Intel is seeking an Applications Engineer specializing in security for FPGAs.

As a Security Applications Engineer, you might be someone that has an FPGA and/or software background that has hands-on experience with device and system security, system design, debug, and/or software development.

In this role, you will:

  • Review system architectural specification requirements and design a best-in-class customer journey by identifying user collateral assets such as user guides, application notes and design examples, use cases, user personas and customer touchpoints (such as the web, git repository, forums etc.).

  • Evaluate the product releases and liaise with engineering to provide feedback on customer use cases and ease of use.

  • Develop technical assets such as user guides, application notes, design examples, demos and customer training that will enable users to successfully design with our products.

  • Respond to customer technical questions, debug, reproduce customer issues, drive issue resolution with the engineering organization as well as drive Close-Loop Corrective Action (CLCA).


Qualifications

Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of relevant experience, experience should include one or more of the following:

  • Device security (e.g. encryption, authentication, side-channel attack mitigation, secure manufacturing protocols, etc.).

  • FPGA experience (e.g. FPGA devices, configuration methods, design software, etc.).

  • Systematic debugging and/or embedded design (e.g. applications-class embedded processors, embedded design, hardware/board debug, operating systems, Windows, Linux, Boot software ((UEFI and UBoot), etc.).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Applications engineering and/or system design experience.

  • Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
