Job Title: Security Module Architect

The ideal candidate has core competencies in several functional areas of responsibility on system design and Android POS architecture. Conduct complex HW System design per VeriFone product architecture framework to meet the product requirement outlined and ability to partition the HW system into building blocks and drive implementation within HW org. Roles including participate to review definitions for new products and provides system level solutions to a problem which is common to an entire product or product line to determine direction for HW development and implementation. As part of HW system team, participate in the investigation or analysis and resolution of problems involving product quality assurance as they relate to the integrity of the design to ensure accurate data that are helpful for determining root cause of failure and shift left to the earlier prevention.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing new HW system/platform design with single/dual processors.
• Provide HW architectural guidance to each functional engineering teams to establish new product definition requirements & commitments.
• Integrate EE, RF, EMC and CTLS features and drive decisions with SW to meet product requirements within program constraints and cost target.
• Participate in the problem solving space when in the test and validation cycle where issue discover.
• Works with other domain expert team to drive implementations across solutions.
• Responsible for working with the Security team to make any architecture or design decisions to address security and compliance.
• Solve a broad range of problems of varying scope or complexity
• Support a broad set of solution needs.
• Keep up to date with evolving industry trends and technologies

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• Extensive experience in electrical or systems engineering for handheld electronic products.
• Detailed knowledge of electrical engineering theory and practical applications.
• Expertise with Android mobile industry standard chipsets and reference designs.
• Expertise with chip & system level power management features
• Experience with display, touch, camera, power management, microprocessors and memory, audio, and sensor technologies and development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Extensive experience in electrical or systems engineering for handheld electronic products.
• Knowledge in depth of how software interacts with HW in implementing each feature and power management
• Ability to write drivers and firmware.
• Familiar with designing products that meets industrial requirement/standards (Environmental, EMC, Safety, etc)
