Job Description

Amgen is seeking a dedicated Sr. Security Manager - with demonstrated experience in both intelligence and emergency management programs. In this hybrid role multiple areas of ones skills will be engaged to enhance and grow Amgen's security capabilities. As the Sr. Manager - Intelligence of Amgen’s global threat intelligence program, you will play a vital role in supporting Amgen’s Global Security Management team in its mission to serve patients and protect Amgen's employees, facilities, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research using open source, subscription, and security-related services to monitor and assess current and emerging threats.
  • Produce written analytical reports and deliver oral briefings to stakeholders on physical security, cyber threat, geo-political, and national security matters affecting Amgen.
  • Identify, collect, and analyze information and intelligence on threats and vulnerabilities affecting Amgen and disseminate that information to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Provide tactical intelligence support to security investigations and operations and crisis and emergency management.
  • Prepare quantitative reports identifying links, trends and metrics.
  • Build and use relationships with internal/external peers from public and private sector organizations.
  • Monitor emerging vulnerabilities impacting resources used within the company.
  • Support the Threat and Vulnerability Assessment process to ensure proper prioritization of remediation efforts.
  • Have a strategic and tactical focus requiring the production of a wide range of estimative, explanatory, and quantitative analysis and briefings.
  • Using Amgen resources to implement and adapt the intelligence cycle in Amgen.
  • Manage intelligence operations; track and schedule all deliverables; manage intelligence product workflow and review products before delivery.
  • Find opportunities for improvement in products, process, and methods.
  • Develop a proactive and collaborative relationship with other business units.
  • Author intelligence products and other products as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Corporate, Law Enforcement or Security experience

Or

Master’s degree and 4 years of Corporate, Law Enforcement or Security experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Corporate, Law Enforcement or Security experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Corporate, Law Enforcement or Security experience

AND

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to interact, influence, and build relationships with all levels of staff, management, and executives.
  • Ability to understand, balance, and articulate both tactical and strategic planning issues.
  • Background in Emergency and Crisis Management programs
  • Persistent, tactful, and persuasive team and project leadership, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and handle diverse assignments simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and manage stakeholders/participants in fast-paced situations.
  • Ability to manage tactical (daily) operations and participate in the development of strategic program plans.
  • Results-oriented with strong delivery focus who can work independently and collaboratively with various teams.
  • Experience writing and publishing intelligence products.
  • Skilled in developing metrics and in conducting security related trend analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting basic investigations and fact finding.
  • Understand of Amgen’s business continuity and incident command system.
  • Experience with the collection and analysis of threat intelligence.
  • 10+ years of experience in intelligence, with at least five (5) years supporting federal, state and or local law enforcement agencies and intelligence experience within the corporate security environment.
  • Extensive experience using social media monitoring platforms, open source and paid databases in the government or private sector to support investigation and proactive intelligence gathering.
  • Direct and successful experience managing projects or programs, including prioritizing competing tasks, allocating resources, and adjusting to a rapidly-changing environment while meeting production deadlines, as well as the ability to delegate appropriately.
  • Ability to be a team-focused, supportive leader and mentor to other team members.
  • Commitment to collaboration, diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong sense of discretion, demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information, and experience working with top-level decision makers.
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills.
