Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Physiology Innovation Implementation Scientist, are to: 

 

  • Be a member of the Global Seed Physiology Innovation Team;
  • Lead implementation of new quality testing methods at Global Seed Physiology Labs by partnering with Technical Leads from the global labs and Innovation teams;
  • Lead validation of Seed Physiology Quality Testing methods in the global labs to make it relevant to the region;
  • Work with all global labs to advance and deploy current Innovations in automation and digitization;
  • Design and execute experiments for innovative technologies for seed quality testing;
  • Understand current quality testing lab workflows and challenges and develop solutions in collaboration with internal and external teams that will ultimately be implemented in production testing;
  • Perform feasibility and validation studies in lab and field environments to test new ideas or concepts;
  • Develop project proposals, including cost estimates and financial justifications working with global Quality Testing financial lead;
  • Assist leadership in identifying and implementing improvements related to productivity, capacity, cost, quality and safety.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Master of Science in Seed/Plant Physiology or Biology or other related technical field with at least six years post graduate experience in an industry or academic setting or Ph.D. in Seed/Plant Physiology or Biology or other related technical field;
  • Knowledge of statistical tools, experience in planning and executing experiments as well as analysis, visualization and interpretation of data;
  • A track record of successful implementation of methods or workflows;
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with global stakeholders and align on priorities;
  • Proven record of successful project management skills;
  • Excellent communication, oral, written and team work skills with a diverse organization.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in imaging technology.

 

Domestic relocation may be provided for this role.
