YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Safety/Germination Scientist II, are to: 

 

  • Organize and maintain complex schedule of concurrent studies with multiple time points of analysis;
  • Build and maintain a knowledge of commercial seed treatment products (internal and external) to better understand the implications of research results when reporting observations, drawing conclusions, and designing follow up experiments;
  • Serve as functional lead within the STC participating in the planning and execution of all research in their functional area;
  • Works closely with the STC manager as well as other key stake holders to fully assess the safety and compatibility of new/experimental/competitor seed treatment products alone and in combination.

    Required Qualifications:
     
  • Ph.D. in an agricultural related field with a minimum of three years of relevant experience; OR
  • Master’s degree in an agricultural related field with a minimum of five years of relevant experience; OR
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an agricultural related field with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
     
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
     
  • Registered and well experienced Seed Technologist;
  • Experience in laboratory/greenhouse environment;
  • Has the requisite technical knowledge and skills to independently execute complex assignments both in adherence to established SOPs as well contributing to method development and overall project/ procedural design;
  • Ability to lead or participate in joint internal cross department research projects.
