The opportunity:

We have a 12-month contract to backfill a secondment where you’ll drive positive change and provide quality support throughout the business. Reporting to the Pricing Manager, you’ll join a talented team that are driven to make a difference and where learning opportunities are plentiful.

About the role:

  • Collaborate to help design sustainable products that meet customers’ needs.

  • Provide financial and risk advice with respect to ongoing product management.

  • Discuss and advise on new policy wordings and product literature.

  • Determine premium rates on a profitable basis after consideration of shareholder profitability, customer value and market position.

  • Monitor the impact of price changes on new and existing business.

  • Monitor the competiveness of products from a pricing, product and remuneration perspective.

  • Perform experience investigations for assumptions required for Pricing and Actuarial teams.

  • Monitor and report on AIA experience against industry experience.

  • Become proficient in the use of the technical software packages including but not limited to Prophet, Glean, Access and Excel.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for efficiencies, minimize costs or financial gains.

  • Manage risks allocated to the Pricing team in compliance with AIA policy.

  • Provide support as required to other areas of AIA as required.

  • Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet reasonable operational and/or other requirements.

About you:

  • Senior Actuarial Analyst or qualified Actuary.

  • Product development and pricing experience.

  • A great communicator and able to build effective stakeholder management skills.

  • Able to showcase strong negotiating and influencing skills.

  • Understanding of the theory and practice of life insurance and the broader financial services industry.

  • Strong technical skills including software skills (e.g. Excel, Access, Prophet and Glean) and analytical skills.
