The opportunity:
We have an opportunity for Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Financial Reporting team. You’ll report to a Senior Actuary and will be in a role where there’s opportunities to make your mark where learning opportunities are plentiful.
This role is about delivering financial insights and value-add reporting to the business. You’ll be involved in enhancing and developing financial reporting processes that deliver pertinent and accurate information efficiently.
About the role:
Claims reporting
Measure the claims experience
Provide regular claims reporting and commentary to key and senior stakeholders
Enhance the claims reporting infrastructure
Strategic planning
Produce the projections of operating profit, sensitivities and other financial metrics for the strategic planning process
Enhance the strategic planning infrastructure to improve automation and greater levels of insight
Other reporting and testing
Assist with setting up Prophet runs and analysis of financial results other than claims reporting where required.
Assist with the implementation and interpretation of assumption changes and other reserving.
Assisting with the testing of claims systems where required.
About you:
Passed Part 1 and nearing completion if not already of Part 2 actuarial exams
The ability to think and work independently, and challenge assumptions, processes and results
Proven ability to engage with non-actuarial stakeholders and business partners
Knowledge and understanding of theory and practice across at least some aspects of actuarial work (e.g. experience investigations, pricing, valuations, solvency and capital management, reinsurance, predictive modeling etc.)
Solid technical skills including software skills (such as Prophet, Glean, DCS and R)
Financial services industry experience
Understanding of NZ life insurance legislative and statutory requirements
