Manage solvency and financial reporting results, manage regulatory issues and influence regulatory decision, manage tasks for appointed actuaries to perform their role, manage the appropriateness of governance process for all actuarial aspects, champion the experience studies and assumptions setting and drive business decision, manage the implication of strategic actuarial initiatives to different actuarial aspects and deliver quality actuarial/financial reports.
- Monitor local statutory solvency and propose necessary management actions
- Manage external reporting results including VONB, EV and IFRS.
- Proactively manage regulatory issues and influence regulatory decision to meet management objective on different areas including consultation paper, law and guideline. Maintain good relationship and effective communication platform with the regulators.
- Manage the compliance of group office and regulatory requirement and the appropriateness of governance process are in place for various external financial reporting, statutory filing, product development/pricing related and assumptions setting.
- Manage tasks for both the AIA International Ltd and AIA Everest appointed actuaries on all areas including solvency management, filing and initiatives.
- Champion experience studies with quality. Champion operating and economic assumptions setting with different stakeholders including both local and group senior management to drive business decision and financial reporting results.
- Deliver quality actuarial/financial reports & materials such as financial condition report and actuarial papers.
- Supervise other team members through regular tasks and actuarial projects as required.
- Support other actuarial projects as required.
Job Requirements:
- University / College graduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Business Administration or related subject with at least 8 years’ experience in life insurance industry.
- Attained or close to Fellowship in Actuarial professional examination
- Strong people management and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, presentation and project management skills.
- Ability to deal with and handle multiple priorities.
- Solid experience and knowledge in insurance product and actuarial work covering experience studies, financial reporting and solvency & capital management
- Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. VBA), Actuarial Software, e.g. Prophet is an advantage
