The appointee is expected to take up a wide range of administrative responsibilities for the LEO Dr David P. Chan Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Data Science Programme and the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences. The appointee will be required to (i) assist the Department Head in planning, promoting, coordinating and managing the new programme; (ii) provide general administrative support to the Department, Head, Programme Committees and Course Instructors; (iii) prepare various programme reports in both English and Chinese; (iv) contact and/or invite external academic or professional speakers for the courses; (v) handle student-related matters, and organize gatherings and activities for students; (vi) deliver placement service to students; (vii) liaise with other departments and units, applicants and professional bodies on the programme-related matters such as student admissions, registrations and programme recognitions; and (viii) perform other duties as assigned. Occasional work in irregular hours including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays may be required.
Requirements
Applicants should (i) have a Bachelor’s degree or above with relevant experience in the tertiary education sector and academic programme management; (ii) have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iii) have a high level of competence in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and webpage applications; (iv) present an impressive initiative, strong report writing ability and good analytical skill to carry out administrative duties independently and efficiently; (v) indicate a great willingness to assume various responsibilities with a passionate attitude and be well-organized, and able to work with minimum supervision and under tight working schedule. Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
