Eaton’s Industrial Controls Division is currently seeking a Lead Agency Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Menomonee Falls, WI location and offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote). In this function you will: Negotiate effective test and certification plans with appropriate certification agencies; including on-site visits to the certification agencies to aid in the development of overall and specific certification requirements for assigned projects. Develop certification requirements and execute test plans for new products, re-ratings and re-certifications of existing products, line extensions, brand-labeled products or joint development projects with internal and external divisions or organizations. Create and refine test lab definitions for new product validations / UL (or other) witness events and organize multiple projects. Provide necessary design team calculations / contributions relative to application rating sizing criteria - ensuring the safety of overall product relative to applicable codes and including thermal or short circuit (SCCR) validations. Support global team performance of on time delivery of engineering project completion and release according to project schedule. Certification project prioritization, track project expenses, drive collaboration towards successful production release. Provide guidance on selection of components and materials that meet certification agency standards and on certification standards, costs, testing, etc. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associate degree in a related engineering/technology discipline with 2 years relevant work experience OR Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline Five (5) years’ experience in a related industry with an emphasis on product design, product integrity and/or design for manufacturability Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings Knowledge of Codes and Standards/Certifications for UL, IC, NEMA, NEC, CSA, IEEE etc. Understanding of motor control (VFD, ATL, RVSS) and related applications Knowledge of molded case circuit breakers, variable frequency drives, electromagnetic starters, PLC's and digital communications Position Criteria: Strong communication and presentation skills, with a focus on technical communications Ability to work in in a high-performance culture environment Ability to influence through solid relationships and process focus Ability to travel as needed based on testing needs; travel amount many vary We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
