Roles & Responsibilities:

Airbnb has embarked on a multi-year journey to transform our Cash Reconciliation and Analytics platform as we look to grow and scale our payments processing systems across multiple countries supporting multiple currencies and payment methods. The data analyst is a key member of the Finance Technology Group, an organization that manages all finance technology systems for Airbnb. 

The Finance Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing Airbnb payment event data, and bank and payment service provider (PSP) data such that it can be ingested into a series of normalized data structures in our big data eco-system (using Hive). They will also be responsible for designing and implementing moderately complex ETL procedures such that the normalized data can be loaded into our Cash Reconciliation system, Reconart.

The analyst will have broad exposure to various functions at Airbnb, including Platform Finance, Finance Engineering, Product and Operations groups. The analyst will leverage a suite of in-house and industry-standard data tools to deliver solutions to support a rapidly growing payments business within Airbnb. 

The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for data, expert technical skills in SQL or similar querying language, strong experience with complex data ecosystems and high-volume data warehouses. They will also have knowledge of credit card processing networks and systems and be familiar with the role of Payment Service Providers.

The candidate must have strong communication skills to present analytical findings and research to key stakeholders and business partners. 

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of combined experience in a related field, preferably at a top tier company 
• Experience working in credit card processing networks is highly preferred
• Expert SQL skills or similar querying language required 
• Excel and modeling experience required
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience analyzing high volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business environment
• B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business Systems, Analytics, or a closely related discipline
• Strong interpersonal and team building skills 
• Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced, hyper growth environment
• Desire to continuously improve and a positive, "can-do" approach
