Job Description
Description This position is responsible for supporting the financial activities of Eaton’s engineering Center at Pune. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, program financial measurement and reporting, contract accounting, supporting new business proposals, and business partnering with program management to analyze and report cost drivers and spend activities for engineering. This position will ensure that the tracking, reporting, and forecasting of Gross R&D and program expenses is completed on a monthly basis, and will work with the program managers and business finance to understand all changes. Monitor and communicate the project & program management spend for the center and provide with interpretation of variances from plan, forecast, or baseline targets. Provide guidance to members of the Finance team within EIIC on techno commercial aspects Develop and implement operational and financial tools/metrics to measure R&D spend impact and effectiveness; promote uniform application & reporting across EIIC and engineering finance. Business partner with program managers to control costs, mitigate risks and manage the budget; Analyse operational and financial data to indicate R&D spend effectiveness Prepare monthly report out on all major programs. Including updates on IRR, NPV etc. and spend variance analysis. Complete Estimate to Complete calculations (ETC) wherever required and ensure these are reviewed and approved by management Be an active participant in the pre & pro-launch process and specifically support Pro-launch gate reviews and provide all necessary financial analysis in a timely fashion. Assist in the preparation of strategic plans, annual profit plans, and monthly rolling forecasts for all major programs and for the Gross R&D budget within a portfolio of plants and programs. Support proposal management by participating in the development of financial analysis for all new program business proposals, capital investments, and potential new product endeavors. (cost\benefit, Go\No Go, Make\outsource etc.) Assist Engineering and Program Management in the identification of financial risks and developing mitigation plans Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Costing or Management Accounting. MBA/CWA/CMA preferred 5-8 years of experience in finance field (costing, pricing etc.) Technical expertise in process and product costing and finance, specifically in application to commercial development and production contracts, Cost-benefit, Techno commercial analysis, engineering research and collaboration contracts etc Experience in managing multiple projects. Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability to establish effective cross-functional relationships. Proven leadership and problem-solving skills Strong financial and analytical competence as well as planning and organizational skills Attention to detail and deadline-orientated focus Knowledge of computerized accounting systems to include word processing, spreadsheet software and integrated ERP / accounting systems (ie,Oracle/SAP, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Power BI, Office 365 etc.) What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
