ABB Turbocharging manufactures and maintains turbochargers for engines on ships, power stations, diesel locomotives and large, off-highway vehicles. We focus on how to help our customers today, while driving innovation in anticipation of future challenges.
Leading the application engineering projects of allocated engine builders within strategies of Product Group High Speed, ABB Turbocharging, coordinating with sales engineer to provide the best turbocharging solution in commercial and technique aspects for customers, evaluating the engine technology developments trends, analyzing turbocharging developing requirements, contribution to Product-Market-Strategy, providing necessary and timely support to internal functions.
Your responsibilities
- Handling the application engineering projects at allocated engine builders within the framework of the strategies and policies of Product Group High Speed, ABB Turbocharging.
- Offering technical and commercial optimized turbocharging solutions to customers in cooperation with Sales Engineers.
- Providing technical support in sales promotion including end-user influence, preparing Technical Agreement and/or Technical Memo and/or Technical Specifications, defining specification of Turbochargers and its matching parts. Cooperating with production function to make sure right product configuration and production, providing guidance and advise for installation of new turbochargers and assesses turbochargers’ performance during engine matching tests.
- Following and assessing engine builder's technology development trend, following and assessing competitor's product development activities, contributing to internal Product-Market-Strategy.
- Supporting the Technical Advisor Team in handling warranty claims and complaints from customers, providing technical support in TC retrofit projects.
- Preparing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations for both internal meetings and external customer meetings.
- Following and applying ABB new operating model “ABB Way”, performing other tasks assigned by line manager.

Your background
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or above in Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, Power Machinery and Engineering, Marine Diesel Engine and Turbomachinery, Master’s degree would be a plus.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant field.
- Should have analytical thinking and should be familiar with sales techniques.
- Must have Excellent communication skills and should be fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, written and spoken.
- Must have exposure to MS Office, AutoCAD / Autodesk and other engineering tools.
- Traits like being trustworthy, ability to work under pressure with enterprising spirit, self-motivation, team player, self-discipline, Flexibility (“do whatever it takes” approach) are desired.
- Must be willing to travel extensively within China with occasional trips outside of China.
