Role Summary

This role will part of Advanced Reporting Team function within Global Automation and Analytics based in KL, Malaysia. Our key priorities are to provide automated analytics and reporting across the global systems in AstraZeneca. The Analyst will work with our customers to define key metrics and design the solution to productionise the metrics reporting. Candidates should have a demonstrable ability to translate business needs into data requirements, and preferably have strong hands-on experience in the software systems development lifecycle and leading small developments. The role will work autonomously with limited direct supervision from senior team members and will provide mentorship, task management and designs to teams of developers.

Typical Accountabilities

• This position will be working closely with business process teams to define metrics, data requirements and reporting frequencies. The incumbent will then examine business models and flows of data and lead the team to produce designs, functional specifications, and test plans for new systems in order to meet our internal clients’ needs.

• Execute the process of turning these requirements into automated outputs

• Coordinating the work of developers to deliver the required results

• Ensuring that work produced by the teams conform to similar methods, designs and standards so that economies of scale can be achieved during the support phase.

• Defining and establishing support mechanisms so that the solution will persist in a reliable manner

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field

• Good background and experience (3+ years) in finance/ operations in shared services.

• Good interpersonal skills, able to quickly establish relationships with customers

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

• Demonstrable experience of crafting and developing data reporting processes

• Knowledge and experience working with SAP or other ERP data

• Experience with Agile concepts & project management tools eg: Jira, Confluence

• Familiar with database engineering concepts: Data Modelling & ETL

• Familiar with business intelligence tools: PowerBI and MicroStrategy

• Familiarity of querying/programming concepts: SQL and Python

• Experience in IT data analysis, software systems engineering and design, preferably using cloud-based systems.
