Senior Associate - Forensic Accounting

Job Description
In KPMG's Forensic practice, we provide clients with commercial and financial expertise in the areas of fraud and misconduct investigations, intellectual property and contract compliance services, fraud risk management, anti-money laundering, forensic technology and corporate intelligence. Since our creation, we've developed in-depth knowledge of an incredibly broad spread of sectors and services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating analysis on Segmentation, Data Mining and Rules based Modelling on categorical data
  • Assist with identifying and capturing anomalies and suspicious information within structured and unstructured data
  • Assist with providing specialised consulting services in modelling and data visualisation, including solution design, solution development and implementation, to clients across different industries
  • Participate in a portfolio of forensic enquiries and engagements, such as compliance reviews, investigations and training
  • Project execution and management including performing analysis, conducting interviews, identifying issues, drafting reports, and communicating with Partners/Senior Manager/Managers
  • Assist in office administration and business development tasks
  • Confident in working independently on own tasks and creating quality work products

Experience and Knowledge

  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience with Data Analytics, business intelligence, data warehouse and other related topics in either public or private sector (Big 4 experience in China will be a definite advantage)
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++ or VBA
  • Experience with SQL, R, SPSS or SAS is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and experience using the basic Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Solid accounting or audit knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent problem solving, fact finding and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commercial awareness when producing and analysing financial and business information
  • Able to manage multiple tasks / priorities and meeting milestones with time, cost and quality constraints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English

Education and Professional Certifications

  • A bachelor degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Commerce, Accounting, Law or other related majors
  • Qualified CPA or equivalent is advantageous but not essential

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel within China and occasionally the Asia Pacific region
