HOW MIGHT YOU DEFY IMAGINATION?
You’ve earned your degree. How will you use that achievement to reach your goals? Do more with the knowledge you’ve worked hard to acquire and the passion you already have. At Amgen, our shared mission—to serve patients—drives all that we do. It is key to our becoming one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies, reaching over 10 million patients worldwide. Become the professional you are meant to be in this meaningful role.
Senior Associate Scientist, Pharmacokinetics & Drug Metabolism (PKDM)

What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will add scientific expertise to the discovery and non-clinical development of small molecule therapeutics by carrying out in vitro ADME assays with a primary focus on drug transporters.
You will be primarily responsible for establishing, optimizing and trouble-shooting transporter screening assays to evaluate new chemical entities as substrates or inhibitors of drug transporters. You will also be contributing to the investigative work aimed towards improving our understanding of the role of drug transporters as they relate to absorption, distribution, and clearance of small molecule therapeutics.
- Plan, conduct, analyze, interpret, and communicate results generated from transporter studies.
- Independently design and execute transporter and potentially other in vitro ADME studies which may include screening as well as mechanistic studies.
- Evaluate and implement emerging in vitro and in silico tools to support the prediction of transporter-mediated pharmacokinetics (PK) and drug interactions (DDIs) in humans.
- Design and complete IND and NDA-enabling studies and report writing to support regulatory submissions. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to interact with contract research organizations (CROs).
- Contribute to the implementation of new assays/techniques based on portfolio needs. Opportunities will be available to contribute to evaluation of ground breaking technology emerging in the field to provide answers to ADMET questions.
- The candidate is expected to be a great teammate, independent thinker and able to work in a highly collaborative, fast pace environment.
Your specific contributions will depend on your expertise, interests, training, and experience. You will also have opportunities to learn and obtain experience with PKDM strategies for the discovery and non-clinical development of multiple therapeutic modalities.
A collaborative and highly capable scientific community at Amgen is available to support these efforts. Interactions and collaborations with academic and other external scientists are encouraged.
