Eaton’s Marketing Commercial Operations Division is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team. This position can be based in Arden, NC or remote elsewhere in the USA. Position Overview: The Senior Automation Engineer provides presale and postsale technical support for PLC’s, Operator Interfaces, Industrial Communication Products and Sensors. The position includes assisting customers with product selection, troubleshooting, and application assistance received via phone and email. In this function you will: Provide technical assistance for PLC’s, Operator Interfaces, sensor and industrial communication products Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC and Operator Interface programs Solve complex customer application issues Provide support via phone and email Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies Review and provide feedback on product literature developed by product line Make recommendations for product enhancements and offerings Proactively communicate customer needs to the product lines Generate sales leads for the field sales organization Participate in the development and maintenance of product support resources. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of Industrial Controls or Automation experience required. Experience programming PLC’s and Operator Interfaces Sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without requiring company sponsorship. Preferred qualifications: Experience implementing Industrial communication networks Experience with photoelectric and proximity sensors Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
