Sr. Analyst – UAT – IMPG

The Location: China, Beijing

The Team: The role will sit on the Data Operations Solutions team within IMPG (Index Management and Production Group). The team functions as a Product Owner in the IT Agile Framework and oversees the coordination of all projects on IMPG owned technology platforms for index calculation, announcements, rebalancing, and committees. The team is involved in prioritization of release items, supplying the business requirements for those items, user acceptance testing for each release, and training for IMPG.

The Impact: Selected candidate will be part of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) team. Candidate is supposed to understand S&P’s proprietary systems & third party vendor models to test enhancements thoroughly along with business users.

Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing maintenance of validation models used by S&P Dow Jones Index Managers and Market Managers.
  • Gather feedback from users for enhancing the above said models in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel
  • Work with team members to perform UAT on the enhancements implemented in the models
  • Deep understanding of the proprietary systems of S&P and their functions
  • Prepare test cases and coordinate business testers for user acceptance testing across all platforms on which IMPG are the main users.
  • Coordinate with IT to make sure all necessary steps have been taken during testing.
  • Provide post-production support for the users
  • Assist in training users on the enhancement implemented

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication with stakeholders with different backgrounds and demands
  • Hands-on experience with collaborating with the development team and QA team
  • Good knowledge of Agile framework
  • Strong experience with user acceptance testing, including writing test cases
  • Experience with system user training, including writing QRG
  • Understand UX design principles.
  • Understanding of equity and fixed income markets.
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced degree in computer science, math, economics, or finance strongly preferred.
  • Superior computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
  • Must be able to work independently on multiple projects with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner
  • Ability to program in VBA preferred.
  • Working knowledge of R, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Ability to learn S&P’s proprietary index calculation engines.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, work with others and manage projects
  • Ability to learn new data and calculation platforms in a limited time
