IT BUSINESS AREA

Digital Health, the point at which healthcare, technology, data and analytics converge is an area of great promise with the potential to improve the health of everyone. You will be joining R&D IT - an outstanding organisation at the forefront of the technology revolution in healthcare. It provides the technology, engineering, data and analytics expertise which delivers the Data Platform underpinning AstraZeneca’s Digital Health strategy. The ambition for this Platform is huge. We are looking for data, technology and change experts to join R&D IT that will ensure this ambition is met.

What you’ll do

You will perform expert business analysis for the Digital Health R&D and Late Science Data Platform. You will take a leading role in transformative strategic projects to build next-generation R&D solutions, as well as delivering high impact business cases for emerging needs. You will collaborate directly with the business stakeholders who are making those life-changing medicines, and the data and technology teams crafting and delivering ground-breaking data-driven solutions.

This role will deliver tangible value by shaping business critical data projects so they meet a well-defined business need, by contributing to the wider business analysis community and practice development, and by influencing the direction of the Platform.

You will perform at an expert level in the following areas:

Business Needs Identification - Assess and define business needs and areas for improvement, proactively seek out opportunities to enhance and improve in line with strategic goals, and propose solutions through research internally and externally.

Business Analysis Planning - Select the appropriate analysis approach for a piece of work. Plan and manage your own and other team member’s activities to meet deliverables and deadlines.  Ensure quality of analytical work delivered, both your own and the work of others.

Stakeholder Analysis & Change - Identify stakeholders, and actively build relationships according to individual stakeholder needs and levels of influence.  Contribute to communication plans and change management.

Requirements Analysis and Design Definition - Deliver requirements management plans including elicitation, approvals, processes, risk, dependencies, scope impacts, traceability, testing and validation.  Respond effectively to changing business priorities with ability to plan ahead, accounting for potential changes and corrective actions.  Lead the work with the business to identify functional and technical requirements, translating the requirements into design specifications reflecting Functional Design, User Interface Design and Business Process Design.   Partner with the Platform, Architecture and Engineering teams, ensuring the technical solution will deliver the agreed business benefits.

Business Case Definition - Shape and define the business case, producing detailed business justification for investment including ROI and benefits realisation.

Solution Evaluation - Analyse and assess solution proposals, providing clear supporting reasoning. i.e. assessing business readiness, maximising value vs. spend. 

ESSENTIAL FOR THE ROLE

• Established knowledge of or some experience of the R&D domain

• Proven experience of successfully deploying business analysis tools/techniques to enable business change

• Proven experience of working with complex integrated systems, using creative and strategic thinking to deliver exceptional results

• Strong engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills, including excellent presentation and influencing skills

• Experience of working in a regulated environment (GxP)

• Experience of virtual collaboration to lead, shape and develop innovative solutions

• Experience of working with and managing third party suppliers/vendors

DESIRABLE FOR THE ROLE

• Degree in relevant discipline Formal certification in business analysis practice

• Practical usage of Agile Methodology

• Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context

• Biopharmaceutical  and Cross industry business awareness/business domain knowledge

• Exposure to User Cantered Design and Design thinking (User Experience, Prototyping, User Interface Design and Business Process Design
