Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Charlotte, NC facility. Position Overview: Manages the supply of key commodities under the direction of the purchasing manager. Has the support of buyers for analyses, tracking and, problem solving. Applies purchasing practices to assigned commodity management, ensuring products meet quality, delivery and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost. Analyzes trends, maintains systems and records, places and expedites orders as needed to meet customer and production needs. In this function you will: Daily collaboration with the Lincoln purchasing team Plans inventory levels and procurement of an assigned group of production materials. Responsible for ECN execution, procedures. Purchases assigned non-inventory items and services. Interviews and negotiates with current and potential vendors on pricing, delivery, terms, stocking programs, etc. Performs necessary follow-up and expediting activities. Assures a timely and effective flow of material into the plant, keeping down time to a minimum. Keeps plant inventories of parts at established levels. Solicits and analyzes quotations for goods and services. Recommends the awarding of purchases and contracts based on information received. Assures quality parts at the lowest possible prices. Adheres to all corporate EHS requirements and guidelines when making supplier decisions. Gathers information necessary to the decision making process when considering suppliers, according to EHS requirements. Conducts negotiations with vendors involving replacement of materials that do not conform to our specifications. Conducts cost reduction activities for assigned commodities and assists other departments in their cost reduction activities. Forecasts market trends of assigned commodities affecting material and service availability and costs. Develops personal objectives and assists the purchasing manager in the development and implementation of department objectives. Studies and analyzes market trends of assigned commodities and reports these trends to the purchasing manager. Gives assistance to the purchasing manager in the training of buyers and clerical personnel. Adheres to Eaton’s Code of Ethics. Adheres to all facility safety guidelines and identifies potential hazards to reduce or eliminate them. Maintains organization and cleanliness in work area and supports all procedures set forth to assure product and process quality and plant manufacturing principles. 200 independent purchased parts and 30 vendors. Vendor base will include Eaton interunit and global supply chain. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Four (4) years of experience in procurement or related work No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
