This is a Senior Buyer role, reporting to the Project Procurement & Logistics Manager in the Business Area - Robotics & Discrete Automation located in Shanghai, China.
Your responsibilities
- Getting deeply involved in the proposal phase of a project when the win possibility is over 80%, getting involved in any material/supplier related activities when a customer contract is signed, including project meetings, project planning, suppliers selecting, etc., involving Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE) project and being key member to provide support from sourcing side.
- Creating and updating procurement plans according to the pre-cal of a project, to specify main commodities, budget and candidate suppliers, defining the complete sourcing strategy for the related commodities with team.
- Making sure that the process is in compliance with company’s policy, taking joint decision of supplier selection, between project team and SCM sourcing team, even engineering team, others. Leading the regional commodity strategy development activity with Global Supply Chain Management (SCM) and leading center project team’s support. Maintaining the key supplier’s base for the dedicated commodity and product group. Maintaining project purchasing data, especially for SCM Database. Working on Purchase Order (PO) control, including material following up, emergency handling on time, trouble shooting for quality issue, etc.
- Building a good relationship with key suppliers by building long-term cooperation, developing potential suppliers to meet the requirements of projects as well as the commodity strategy, defining the agreement with key suppliers according the sourcing strategy.
- Leading commercial negotiation with suppliers and make joint purchase decision with the project team. Coordinating between PM/SCM/Suppliers. Supporting other tasks from SCM manager if necessary.
- Driving the Year on Year cost saving target achievement through the project development. Pushing the localization/local country source target achievement. Developing and executing the commodity strategy for the key commodities within the dedicated product group. Supporting the functional team to reach the quality, on-time-delivery and payment terms target.

Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or others related.
- Minimum 8 years of mechanical or electrical product purchasing/sourcing experience related to projects.
- At least 2 years supervisor or management position experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of product development processes.
- Techniques experienced as design engineer and quality engineer a plus.
- Experience with international terms of trade and payment, Experience with ISO standards and quality certification processes.
- Strong project purchasing management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English skills (spoken and written), and French/German skill is a plus
- Highly skilled at MS office.
