Eaton’s Aerospace Group, Interconnect Technology Division (ITD) is currently seeking a Sr. Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our City of Industry, CA location. Position Overview: As a Sr. Buyer, you will drive purchasing practices to assigned commodity and apply strong knowledge to ensure products meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible costs. Identify new suppliers, negotiate price, analyze trends, expedite orders, manage ERP SMART rules, shortage resolution, and supplier capacity within functional area of responsibilities. In this function you will: Coordinate sourcing strategies and supplier rationalization initiatives with Aerospace Commodity Management to ensure both plant and Aerospace goals are achieved. Prepares reports and other correspondence for use by Eaton SCM professionals. Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements, and provides feedback to scheduling and management. Ensure compliance with applicable contract flow down (FAR, DFAR, ITAR, etc.). Acts and applies skillful negotiations with internal and external suppliers; creates problem solutions and settles disputes; develop win-win resolutions, and creates positive relations with tact, diplomacy, and expert judgment. Be an active participant in continuous improvement and problem solving. Support potential miss to ensure on time completion of critical orders, be proactive. Possesses expert knowledge and applications skills in the value chain process; and is recognized as an expert in analyzing and interpreting cost drivers when developing cost out strategies. For area of responsibility manages item parameters and settings in MRP system, minimizes past due sales dollars, quality issues, resolves supplier shortages, customer on-time delivery. Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans regarding on time delivery and quality. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Supply Chain Role. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or a focus in Supply Chain Management 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management with increasing responsibilities Supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably the Aerospace Industry Process Certifications (CPIM). Position Criteria: High Level Computer Skills (Excel, One Note, MFGPRO, SAP). Proficient in the development and tracking of internal metrics. General knowledge of ERP and procurement processes. Strong communications and customer care skills when interacting with both internal and/or external customers. Sound knowledge of supply chain and purchasing reporting systems. Sound knowledge of Eaton commodity products and supplier resources. Sound knowledge of supply chain and purchasing requirements. Sound knowledge of quality assurance and reporting accuracy. Sound knowledge and applications skills of process improvement. This position requires the incumbent to apply analytical and problem-solving skills, which includes a strong knowledge of supply chain and purchasing problem solving tools. Incumbent should possess statistical tools application skills. This position drives value by defining problems and eliminating root causes and creates supply chain solutions for process improvements.
