Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure Division is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team. This position will be a hybrid office/remote role based at our Raleigh, NC facility. The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing of goods and services to support CPDI operations. Commodities will include all active electronics (SCRs, IGBTs, Transistors, Diodes and Integrated Circuits). In this role, you will also be responsible for the Contract Manufacturing of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) and other commodities as required. In this function you will: Drive supplier engagement and performance through scheduled business reviews for key suppliers. Review shortages and Open Order Report to assess materials demand as required. Facilitate the implementation of goals and objectives between corporate commodity management and the CPDI Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. Work with and evaluate Suppliers on pricing, scheduling of materials, and planning of future orders and emergency spot buys. Perform cost savings analysis and volume planning to identify and execute cost reduction initiatives or mitigate cost increase. Develop new sources of supply for non-concurrent materials demand when service requirements are no longer supported by production suppliers. Work collaboratively with Engineering for changes, revisions of material and New Product releases. Coordinate with other division Senior Buyers to develop capabilities within the approved supply base. Proactively investigate and support resolution of supplier Accounts Payable issues. Understand and take action to improve supply chain resiliency around risk of component shortages during market challenges. Provide forecasts and purchasing strategy to vendors that balance demand requirements and obligation risks. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years experience in purchasing. Working knowledge and experience with digital technology and processes. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Raleigh, NC facility. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration from an accredited institution. Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. CPIM or CPM certification. SAP system experience. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and processes. Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications. Position Success Criteria: Knowledge of MRP/Material Planning Systems (SAP preferred). Knowledge of general manufacturing practices. Knowledge of purchasing practices/contracting methods & strategies. Ability to train peers or new purchasing personnel. Knowledge of component purchasing and supply sources.
