The Opportunity

Join the AIA Claims team where you will be responsible for the assessment of all types of claims including term life/death, total permanent disablement and income protection. While having your own small claimant portfolio, you will be required to provide technical advice and support to the team. You will also be responsible for the ongoing development of Claims Assessors, management of claims within own authority level and the execution of agreed strategies and ongoing development of staff.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Manage a claims portfolio including more complex claims, and proactively contribute to the overall achievement of claims turnaround times and SLAs.
  • Coach, mentor and develop Claims Assessors
  • Ensure that the quality and accuracy of claims assessments meets business standards through peer review and quality assurance checks
  • Take accountability for maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Participate in business initiatives to help achieve claims strategy and develop a high performing culture

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in the life insurance industry
  • High level of knowledge of product, claims, medical, system and regulations impacting life insurance
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Understanding of performance targets and measurements, and the ability to track and monitor delivery.
  • Proven experience as a coach or mentor
